The 2019 Academy Awards are just around the corner. Scheduled to air live on February 24, 2019 at 8 pm ET, the event will mark 91 years of Oscars. ABC network will stream the Oscars live across US territories.
Oscar Highlights
The 91st Academy Awards were one of the least hyped Oscar awards ever. Not many people are talking about it, primarily because most fans didn’t like the nominations. Now that the Oscars have been awarded to the deserving artists, there are a few reactions surfacing on social media.
The most deserving actor according to most people was Rami Malek, who was awarded with the Best Actor award for his spectacular performance in Bohemian Rhapsody. In fact, it doesn’t come much as a surprise that he actually won the Oscar.
ooh baby Rami Malek won his first Oscar, I’m so happy and so proud of him… he deserves it, he was amazing in Bohemian Rhapsody ❤❤#Oscars pic.twitter.com/BKjXTcNpYc

Apart from that, Peter Ramsey went on to become the first black director to ever win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. This was a major milestone in the history of Oscars, which has been tainted with allegations of discrimination and biases.
2019 is already a year of firsts for the #Oscars

And yes, let’s not forget Lady Gaga’s song, Shallow, which has become the most awarded song. Lady Gaga won the award for Best Original song. Bradly Cooper and Lady Gaga sang the song together on stage during academy awards. From the point when Cooper and Gaga took stage, till when they were done performing, the duo received 3 standing ovations, something which has never happened in Oscars before.
Just an amazing performance as expected for the soundtrack’s queen Shallow and Lady Gaga I can’t be more proud of her. #Oscars
