Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is a near-exact recreation of the original Nintendo DS games, which were released in 2007.
Storyline
The storyline of the game is quite clear-cut. You, as a player, get the role of a young trainer who receives his first Pokémon and carries on with the journey to become a lead trainer, like in all main Pokémon games.
You then embark on a quest to gather all 8 badges while also ending an infamous group. Your Pokémon fight against the opponents throughout different levels to reach the end of the game.
The primary type of the Pokémon, i.e., fire, water, air, etc., determines its appearance. The secret to winning any battle is to exploit the weakness of the opponent Pokémon. Finally, you must battle the Elite Four and the Pokémon Champion to become the region’s most powerful trainer.
Instead of undertaking any significant creative risks, this game has stayed on the safe side. Still, the franchise has been known never to release a boring game as Brilliant Diamond.
However, this game does have certain negatives. Something that must be kept in mind is that while Brilliant Diamond is an almost identical remake of the original games, it lacks the battle stunts and tricks.

Improvements
The new quality of life elements in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is among the most significant enhancements in this version. This significantly improves the game’s efficiency.
One of the main improvements is the elimination of Hidden Machines, for example. These HMs used to teach Pokémon skills, yet the problem was that they were often ineffective during battles.
Customizing the trainer and Poké Balls adds a personal touch to your experience. Apart from the storyline, Brilliant Diamond has a lot of post-game quests and side-adventures as well.
However, the original games featured several significant problems, such as relegating new evolutions such as Elective to the post-game or including just a small number of fire Pokémon.
This makes the Elite Four members and Gym Leaders end up in odd teams that do not necessarily line up with the type they’re intended to represent. However, these issues are not fixed by Brilliant Diamond either.
The design
The game also has been designed beautifully, with high-tech AI and has increased the difficulty level of specific final battles, which should appease fans of the franchise who believe it has become too simple.
Accessing your computer anytime to change your Pokémon is also an excellent addition to the game. This function was available in other Pokémon games released recently as well.
Nevertheless, because Pokémon Platinum was the definitive edition of the 4th gen titles, the absence of Platinum features in this game is upsetting. Because of a rewritten plot, Team Galactic, the criminal group in Platinum, seemed like an actual danger compared to the Diamond game.
Specific animations are complex at times, and a few locations and regions seem extremely stunning due to the lighting or water effects.
However, some textures appear jumbled and hurried at other moments. You can also improve your gaming experience to be lag-free and smooth with the help of Port Forwarding your router device.
Conclusion
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is still a fantastic Pokémon game, despite its limitations. If you did not get to play the original DS games and have been aching to return to the Poke world, this one provides a faithful recreation.
