Meta’s Facebook Notified Users on Downloading Password-Stealing Malicious Apps

Facebook has warned its users about 400 password stealing apps. These malicious apps pose as legitimate programs but are actually designed to steal user’s passwords. The app then uses the stolen password to login to the victim’s account and perform various tasks such as posting on their behalf, sending messages, or even making purchases.

The list of affected apps includes some of the most popular ones such as Camera Beauty, VPN Master, and SuperVPN. If you have any of these apps installed on your device, it is recommended that you remove them immediately and change your Facebook password.

If you believe that your account may have been compromised, be sure to check your recent activity log for any suspicious activity. You should also change your password and enable two-factor authentication to further protect your account.
