At PureVPN, we have cherry-picked 7 of the most memorable moments from the hottest TV shows. Are you ready? Here goes the list:
1. Game of Thrones – Tyrion Lannister's Trial by Combat Speech – Season 4, Episode 6.
Tyrion Lannister, the man who was always ridiculed for being a dwarf, never compromised with his pride. Season 4 brings Lannister to a stage where he has to confess murdering King Joffrey. The main detail that sends chill to the spines of the viewers is the fact that he hasn’t committed that murder. Still, he has to confess due to his circumstances. Without a doubt, this is one of the best TV scenes of 2014. It might also be the best moments in TV history for a lot of people!
2. Arrow – Arrow vs. Ra’s al Ghul Fight – Season 3, Episode 9.
We are all aware of how agile, strong and smart Arrow is. What we don’t know is that he can get overpowered by an older man; provided that the man is Ra’s al Ghul. When Arrow meets Ra’s al Ghul, both him and the audience goes through second-by-second surprises as Arrow gets defeated and receives a sword right through his body, after which he is pushed from the mountain to disappear in the depths of the valley: A heart-stopping fight that many might call the greatest TV series scenes of 2014.
3. House of Cards – Frank Underwood's Monologue – Season 2, Episode 1.
Frank Underwood’s mirror image scene is indeed the perfect way to kick start the new season of House of Cards. The episode begins with Frank’s Philosophical monologue, where he is looking right into the mirror, elaborating his lust for power and so on. You cannot afford to miss out on this very powerful scene that might help you explain why power is the biggest intoxicant. We’re still intoxicated by this moving scene. That’s why we call it the best TV moment of 2014.
4. True Detective – Rust Cohle's Theory of Religion – Season 1, Episode 3.
True Detective is indeed one of the deepest and darkest dramas HBO has ever created. The main protagonist, Detective Rust Cohle, who is deemed as an arrogant officer, has religious theories of his own. In this scene he explains his twisted understanding of religion that will definitely shock many and cringe even more. If you like controversial and thought-provoking entertainment, it won’t get better than this.
5. Homeland – The Heaviest Blow – Season 4, Episode 9.
The Taliban leader Haqqani, has once again kidnapped the Ex-CIA director Saul Berenson. They are making footage with Saul to send a strong message to the people who care about Saul and what he stands for. This scene gives you a clear understanding that Homeland is only shaping up to an action-packed show, and better than the previous seasons. A must-watch scene for Homeland fans.
6. Walking Dead – Beth’s Death – Season 5, Episode 8.
Beth Greene has not been the most important Walking Dead character but indeed has a place in every fan’s heart. Beth, who is the youngest daughter of Hershel and Annette and the half-sister of Shawn and Maggie, is abducted by the police officers under the service of Dawn Lerner. When Beth is finally free and being taken away from the hold of the brutal police, she tries to stab Dawn (the leader of the clan) with a scissor. Dawn accidently shoots Beth in the head in a reaction to the attack and ends up being shot as well by Daryl. We were shocked when we saw it the first time. Right there and then, we knew this would be part of our best TV moments 2014.
7. Mad Men – Peggy and Don Share a Dance – Season 7, Episode 6
Nobody appreciates Peggy’s talent as much as Don. The dance scene between Peggy and Don is very delightful to observe. It has all the professionalism and collegial warmth. It is definitely one of the best TV moments of 2014. The scene is directed really well and both the actors did justification to their parts. No wonder we have watched this scene a 100 or so times already.
